What is It?!
Precious Metal Clay was created in 1990 in Japan. This still new and growing Art
Form takes Pure Silver ( or another Precious Metal ) ground up extremely fine and
mixes it with a small amount of organic binder and water. The result is a clay
looking material that can be molded, textured, and cut in to most anything. Once a
creation is dry it is Fired in a Kiln in order to burn off the binder and water and
sinter the metal. What you are left with is a piece of pure metal that can be soldered,
cut, hammered, and polished! I love the flexibility of PMC , it allows me to combine
my skills as a Jeweler to create new and exciting Designs!
